“I was born and raised in Venezuela. I use to work at Johnson & Johnson and at Pepsi Cola. I had a good position. I was the secretary to the President. Then I met an Italian man. We eventually got married and had children and decided to move to Italy. My husband wanted our children to learn Italian. We lived in the city of Verona. Verona is a very beautiful city and is known as the “City of Love”. It is the city where the story of Romeo and Juliet took place. I have beautiful memories there.

Since I was 15 years old, I had an appreciation for fashion and Italy at the time was known as the fashion capital of the world. When my daughter grew up and got married, she moved to Canada. Being away from my children was difficult. I used to come to Canada to visit her. On my visits here, I fell in love with Canada, and I told myself one day I would like to move here. When my husband passed away, I knew it was time for a change. In August of 2010, I was sponsored by my daughter and moved to Canada. Now I am independent and I love it! I have been attending programs at the Niagara Folk Arts since 2010 and I love the social atmosphere. I am also using my love for fashion to design bags for Canada Games 2021. Life comes full circle. When you follow your passions, you will find it in whichever country you land in.”
